First-timers

What your first wheel class actually feels like

Expect wobble. Expect laughter. Expect clay to ignore you for ten minutes, then suddenly cooperate.

Good beginner teaching is partly technical and partly emotional. The wheel asks for steady hands, but it also rewards soft shoulders, slow breath, and permission to make an odd little bowl.

“Clay remembers pressure, speed, hesitation, and confidence — which is why first pieces are so charming.”

Wear clothes you can wash, trim your nails if you like, and leave perfection at the door. Your piece will dry, bisque, glaze, fire again, and return with a story baked into it.
